Spike and soft compound tyres/winter wheels with tyres do not have a release or technical recommendation from BMW
Group Development! The minimum requirement by BMW Group Development on spike and soft compound tyres is the legal (technical and functional) minimum requirement on the tyre manufacturers for the sale of a tyre (among others verifiable by certifications on the sidewall)! The warranty claim in the claim chain end customer > dealer > NSC > service provider/assembler of spike and soft compound tyres/winter wheels with tyres > BMW AG > tyre manufacturer is thus restricted to the legal (technical and functional) minimum requirement of tyres. The sale of spike and soft compound tyres/winter wheels with tyres is restricted to the countries of
Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland,
Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia,
Kazakhstan, Belarus and Ukraine, but this can, based on market requirements and after coordination with the BMW
Group specialist departments, be extended to include further markets!
Possible national legal regulations must observed independently by the market prior to or during the sale/fitting of spike and soft compound tyres/winter wheels with tyres! Spike and soft compound tyres/winter wheels with tyres are not part of the current overall vehicle approval meaning that it is not permitted to fit them ex works! Thus, they are likewise not permitted to be fitted on new vehicles prior to their first registration!
Customers must be advised before the sale/fitting of spike and soft compound tyres/winter wheels with tyres that the handling of their vehicles may be affected! Because spike and soft compound tyres/winter wheels with tyres have a lower speed index, a speed sticker must be affixed inside the vehicle when such tyres/wheels are fitted on the vehicle.
